Things to Consider Before Getting a Lift Kit

In 2014 Toyota released their new Hilux that was designed to incorporate in it all of the advantages and most useful aspects of the previous models while removing any unnecessary components. It turned out to be a great design in terms of performance that provided all of the capabilities that anyone would expect from a monster of a pick-up truck along with a few new ones that no one expected, but were a welcome addition none the less. There are however many different modifications that can always be made to any car in order to improve it in a few ways, and the Hilux is no exception.

When it comes to modification that can provide some significant improvements, the 2014 Hilux lift kit is a good choice. There is however one thing that you need to consider, and that is whether you want your 2014 Hilux lift kit to be a suspension lift or a body lift. Like any other after market addition, these lift kits can give your car some very useful features, but can also hinder it in a few ways, so here is what you need to know before you buy.

The body lift kit are specifically made not to change the quality of the vehicles ride and are more economical that the suspension lift kits, and save on having to buy new shocks as they remain untouched. These lift kits will give your tires more clearance while still retaining the factory suspension geometry and alignment. They are however more time consuming to install since they require the body to be lifted and then bolted back into place. They also have the downside of making the cars frame more visible because the bumpers are not raised with the body, and aside from the bigger tires that can be fitted they provide no other performance upgrades.

The suspension lift kits are meant to make the suspension more articulate and make the vehicle able to easily go over much rougher terrain than it could normally. Additionally, these lift kit can also go much higher than the body lift. The downside is that the kit requires a bit of maintenance and some of the components may need to be replaced from time to time. Another thing to keep in mind is that it will now be a little more difficult to get into your car now since the vehicle has been raised.

Depending on what aspects you consider more important, both of these lift kits can give your truck some added capabilities and even make it look a bit more fierce.
